Well, I just signed up with Second Life and so far so good. It was kind of fun flying around. Here is me relaxing at the Regina Spektor house. I have not had a chance to play around with changing my body parts yet.
Posting "The PCR Song" blog yesterday got me thinking about the "We are the world" song. It brought back a lot of memories. It was fun seeing Michael Jackson when he was younger.
"We Are The World", U.S.A. for Africa
There comes a time when we need a certain call When the world must come together as one There are people dying Oh, and it's time to lend a hand to life The greatest gift of all
We can't go on pretending day by day That someone, somehow will soon make a change We're all a part of God's great big family And the truth - you know love is all we need
[CHORUS] We are the world, we are the children We are the ones who make a brighter day so let's start giving There's a choice we're making We're saving our own lives It's true we'll make a better day Just you and me
Well, send'em you your heart So they know that someone cares And their lives will be stronger and free As God has shown us By turning stone to bread And so we all must lend a helping hand
[REPEAT CHORUS]
When you're down and out There seems no hope at all But if you just believe There's no way we can fall Well, well, well, let's realize That one change can only come When we stand together as one
It is hilarious. This is the best line... ...PCR, when you need to find out who the daddy is. Who’s your daddy?...
The PCR Song
There was a time when to amplify DNA, You had to grow tons and tons of tiny cells. (Oooh) Then along came a guy named Dr. Kary Mullis, Said you can amplify in vitro just as well.
Just mix your template with a buffer and some primers, Nucleotides and polymerases too. Denaturing, annealing, and extending, Well it’s amazing what heating and cooling and heating will do.
[Chorus]
PCR, when you need to detect mutation (detect mutation) PCR, when you need to recombine (recombine) PCR, when you need to find out who the daddy is (who’s your daddy?) PCR, when you need to solve a crime (solve a crime) [Repeat Chorus]
(PCR) To all the scientists out there doing PCR, Bio-Rad salutes you with the all-new 1000 series thermal cycling platform.
Wow, I just watched the entire video (1 hour and 15 minutes long.) It was very inspirational. I am not sure what I would talk about if I am giving the last lecture of my life.
